Happy Anniversary to Us!!

It is unbelievable that we are celebrating our ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY! I cannot believe how fast this year flew by! We spent the weekend in Arlington with Py's brother Garrett and one of my friends from school, Bromwyn. The trip started off bumpy, but it was so much fun and we made some great memories! To start things off, we got about 5 miles down our road and had to stop to help a sweet old man change his blow out. After that, we headed to Weatherford to pick up Bromwyn. I believe that we found every construction zone available. By the time we finally got Bromwyn and headed towards Ft Worth, we were frazzled and exhausted!! When we got into Arlington we decided to drop Garrett's truck off at our hotel and then head to the airport to see my parents get off their plane from Hawaii..I am not even going to get into the details on how we made it to the airport...It was WAY stressful. I told the boys we could go eat at Hooters before the game and they did not let me forget that promise! (I forgot to take pictures!) So after some fried pickles and burgers we headed to the BALLPARK! It was hot! That's all I gotta say! The experience was fun, even though they lost! After the game we headed back to our hotel for some much needed sleep!! The next morning Py and I woke up and went to IHOP for breakfast then headed to Merkel to get the top piece of our wedding cake and visit with my parents. Then we finally headed back to good 'ole Woodson! Below are pictures from the game and us eating our cake as well! Enjoy!!

Our Very First White Christmas!

CAs most of you know, us Texans got to experience a WHITE Christmas this year! The snow was gorgeous but it was bitter sweet for us. We had planned on heading to Merkel when Py got off at noon on Christmas Eve. Thanks to the snow, that did not happen. It got to the point where we did not think we were going to be able to go home on Christmas. I was so bummed! To cheer me up, Py let me open my stocking. (Our present to each other was to fill the other's stocking). We hadn't planned on opening them until we made it back home on Christmas Day. We also let Kona open his stocking. After we opened our stockings, we got word that the roads were clearing up and it would be safe to travel if we left immediately. We loaded up the truck and headed home! We were so excited!! The hour and half trip turned into two and a half hours, but it was well worth it. I do not have any pictures from Christmas with our families, but I did post some pictures of our first "almost" Christmas at home.

Poor Kona!

So, it's been forever since I've posted...where shall I start?? In the past couple of weeks Py and I have experienced quite the excitement. To start it off, we decided to get a black lab. The guy who gave him to us had him trained, he just didn't have any time to spend with him. So, on Sunday December 13 we welcomed Ace into our family. He is a very smart and intelligent dog and we love him so much! Later that week, we unexpectedly inherited a Weimaraner as well. We learned very quickly that Ranger (the Weimaraner) and Ace did not get along. We had to keep them apart for the most part. The day after we got Ranger, yet another incident happened and a horrible one at that! I had spent most of the day outside with the dogs making sure that they didn't hurt each other. Eventually, they started to get along. Py's Company Christmas party was that night, so he happened to get off at 5 instead of 6. The dogs had wandered off together and I was outside calling them up to the house. First came Ace, then Ranger. We could not find Kona. We searched for 30 minutes and then Py finally found him. We do not know what happened, but something (one of the big dogs most likely) got a hold of our little dog. We rushed him to the Vet in Throckmorton. He was bleeding from his neck and had air pockets from his ear down to his hind legs. It was so scary! He ended up staying the night with the vet and we went to pick him up the next day. Fortunately, his wounds were not fatal. He suffered from a punctured lung and many wounds on his neck. He spent many days lying around and feeling pretty crappy. Now, he is back to his usual self and we are so glad he made it through. As for what exactly happened to him, we will never know. But, we did get rid of the Weimaraner and everything has been great since. Here is a picture of our sweet Kona Brown wrapped up in his bandage:

This is the day after it happened, when we brought him home. You can kinda see the wounds on his neck.
