Christmas 2012

Christmas is always crazy for us, but this year it was especially fun! We got to spend our first Christmas with my older brother and his family! My mom and I have been looking forward to this for MONTHS and I was so glad when it finally came! Py and I did our gifts to each other on Sunday morning and then loaded up the truck and headed to Mom and Dad's to see everyone. We stayed with them Sunday night and Monday night (Christmas Eve) and then went to Py's parents house on Christmas morning. After Christmas there, we went to Woodson for Christmas with Py's grandmother, Nenny. Unfortunately, my camera died so I didn't get any pictures at Nenny's. But--here is a photo recap of everything else. :)

On Christmas morning, we headed to Py's parents house. I didn't get as many pictures because my camera was starting to die and was super slow. They open presents fast! :)

But we had a great time and even got some SNOW on Christmas! We had a great Christmas and have been extremely blessed! I am already ready for next year :) 

Thanksgiving 2012

For Thanksgiving this year we did our usual rotation of family stuffings gatherings. We spent Thanksgiving Day in Woodson with Py's family. I only have one picture I took of us on my iPhone from that day :( Thanksgiving night we braved the crowds and did a little Black Friday shopping. Nothing too extreme--those people are frightening! Friday, Tina (my MIL) and Dyllan (my SIL) did a little a lot more shopping. We shopped ALL day, but scored a lot of good deals. On Saturday, we went to my parents house for Thanksgiving with my dad's side of the family. This is the 2nd year we have done this and it is so wonderful getting to see everyone. Again--I'm not the best picture taker, so I only grabbed a few. Here's a quick recap:

Thanksgiving 2012 is in the books and I can gratefully say we had a lot to be thankful for. The Lord has continued to bless our marriage and our lives. We are so very fortunate!

It's Beginning To Look A Lot Like Christmas!

I am like obsessed with stalking other blogs and looking at complete stranger's Christmas decor. (I really need some of you friends to start blogging, my stalking is less weird when I've met you in person!) Any who--my decorations in my house aren't anything fantastic, but I decided to post my indoor decor as well! Most of my decorations were given to me and some are things I've collected over the years. This is the first year I've done two trees so my tiny house feels really whimsical. Enjoy :)

Each one of these items are so special. The angel and mouse were decorations in my Nana's house growing up and I just received the hot plates yesterday from Py's grandmother. They were his Great Grandmother-Mama Brown's decorations. So special!

This too is extremely special! The nativity scene was my Nana's, as well as the small angel. It was always her tree topper.

This is my Nana's china cabinet loaded with Christmas goodies. I hung all of my Christmas cards on it and just love walking past it! Until I got married, I got a porcelain doll every year from Santa and I love incorporating the holiday ones into my decor!

Bedroom Sneak Peek

I am determined to finish the bedroom this week since I am finished with classes and start back to school next week. I will post pictures of the final finish, but here are some sneak peak photos.

 There is paint on about 90% of the walls! We just need to finished the trim and touch up the ceilings. We used Valspar's Wood Smoke and I LOVE it! 

 I found a duvet set in this print at TJ Maxx for 38 bucks! STEAL! It wasn't exactly what I was looking for, but it was inexpensive and Py liked it-so it is a win-win. 

I've been seeing and reading that mixing prints is the new "thing" for bedding. I had been stalking Ross for sheets and just happened to stumble upon these for 20 bucks! YAHTZEE! I hope the prints clash well together and I can pull it off!

Ruidoso, New Mexico

Py and I just got back from a very relaxing mini-vacation in Ruidoso, NM with his family. It is crazy to think that the last time we were there (4 years ago) we were just a few weeks shy of getting engaged and it was our first vacation together. The weather was PERFECT making it really hard to come home to 100+ degree temperatures. We drove up Wednesday night with Py's brother and met his parents, sister, and grandparents there. It was just what we needed and so beautiful. We stayed in a cabin a few miles out of town. There were deer everywhere that would just come up and eat right out of our hands. It was so fun! Here are a few pictures from our trip!

We had the best time and look forward to going back again! It was no fun coming back to the heat, but it was nice to sleep in our own bed again and see our pups!
